The Long Beach State Dirtbags rescheduled Sunday’s game against No. 9 Ole Miss for 11:30 a.m. due to travel plans, but they’re still going to hold a naming ceremony for the locker room in honor of former Mayor Bob and Nancy Foster.
“I love baseball, I love the game,” said Bob Foster in an official release. He served as the Mayor of Long Beach from 2006-2014.
“I have a lot of regard for Long Beach State. I served for over eight years on CSU Board of Trustees, and I’m a product of the CSU system at San Jose. Nancy and I have had good fortune in our lives and some reasonable success, and we wanted to share that with young kids that are playing the game that we love.”
The facility will be formally named the Honorable Bob and Nancy Foster Dirtbags Locker Room. The pregame naming ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. in the picnic area along the left field line, and will include statements from LBSU Athletics Director Andy Fee, Dirtbags head coach Troy Buckley, and Bob Foster, who will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
