Long Beach State Dirtbags vs. No. 9 Ole Miss

After splitting a mid-week series with Arizona State, the Dirtbags (3-6) are back at Blair Field as part of a six-game homestand. Friday’s 6 p.m. game has been rained out, and there will be a double header on Saturday. Game 1 is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the second game will start 45 minutes after that game concludes.
The Ole Miss pitching staff is one of the best in the nation. They have a 2.25 team ERA with 93 strikeouts in 72 innings.
LBSU will send sophomore Zak Baayoun (2-0) to the mound for his for his third start. The crafty lefty has allowed a pair of earned runs while striking out 19 batters in 14.1 innings.
Ole Miss (8-0) has outscored its opponents 53-25 with nine home runs. Sophomore Grae Kessinger leads Ole Miss with 14 hits, three doubles and a .645 slugging percentage.
The nonconference series concludes at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
LBSU will be back at Blair Field on Wednesday for its ninth game in 12 days against Vanderbilt at 6 p.m.
