After losing four consecutive season openers, the Millikan Rams have won three of their last four. However, when they visit Carson tonight at 7 p.m. it will be the best team they’ve played this early in the season over the last decade.
“They are a physical team,” Millikan coach Justin Utupo said of Carson. “We have to start fast. Anytime you play on the road, you need to set the tone right away.”
Carson finished second in the Marine League behind Narbonne last year, and reached the second round of the City Section Division 1 playoffs. Last season, Carson had 10 different running backs score touchdowns while the Colts averaged better than seven yards per carry.
