The St. Anthony football season gets underway at 7 p.m. tonight as the Saints visit Valencia.
St. Anthony hasn’t lost its first game of the season since 2014 when they went on to reach the semifinals.
Valencia shared the Empire League title with Pacifica last year while rushing for over 200 yards per game. Junior Nathan Sandoval rushed for 844 yards last season, and had five games of more than 100 yards on the ground.
“They are disciplined, tough and scrappy,” St. Anthony coach Mario Morales said. “Stopping their run game is going to be key.”
