Lakewood High played host to the 14th annual Steve Lewis Volleyfest last Saturday, featuring four local schools in a top-notch day-long celebration of the sport and of Lewis, the legendary former Lancers coach. Lewis was a mentor to current Lakewood coach Mike Wadley, and as always, he played his current Lakewood team a five-minute movie made about Lewis for his memorial.
“It was really emotional, it just showed us why Mike does all the things he does for us,” said Lakewood setter Moni Vivao.
For the first time in the history of the event, the Moore League schools went undefeated.
