Nick Billoups, St. Anthony Football

Quarterback Nick Billoups knew his team needed a win on the road last Friday, and he delivered for St. Anthony. Billoups ended up tying a school record for most touchdowns scored in a game with seven as he led the Saints to a win. Billoups had 176 yards passing, 233 yards rushing and 42 yards receiving, scoring at least one TD in all three ways. He had 452 total yards in addition to the seven scores.

Jakob Belton, Wilson Football

Wilson won a tight one-score game with Lakewood on Friday to keep themselves in the playoff hunt, and it was an unlikely hero who helped them out. Offensive lineman Jakob Belton scooped up a goal line fumble and plowed into the end zone for the first touchdown of his football career. “I don’t know what came over me,” he said, “But I just picked it and ran it. To be honest, I was scared that were going to go for my knees and just take me out, but I got that touchdown.”

Daylen Fuller, Long Beach Poly Football

Long Beach Poly linebacker Daylen Fuller has never been the biggest guy on the field, but he plays like he is. Fuller was a star for the Jackrabbits on Friday against Compton, leading the way against a powerhouse Tarbabes rushing attack with a team-high 10 tackles, including two for a loss. Fuller also had a rushing touchdown and a fumble recovery in the game to help preserve the Poly shutout.

Presley Parker, Wilson Volleyball

Rarely is it the case that a high school libero controls a match but Wilson senior Presley Parker was a stabilizing force in the back row for the Bruins in a five-set thriller over Millikan last week. Parker shined in the win, which keeps Wilson in sole possession of third place in the Moore League. The senior had 38 digs and four aces in the win.
