The Wilson boys’ water polo teams took a strangle hold on first place in the Moore League on Friday with an 18-3 victory at Millikan. The Bruins (9-12, 3-0) are trying to win a 12th consecutive league crown.
“This was a good showing,” Wilson coach Jeff Nesmith said. “We played with confidence and we hope to carry that over to round out the season.”
Senior Max Berg had a game-high six goals for the Bruins, and five of his teammates also scored. Freshman Zac Crenshaw chipped in five goals, and Gray Carson scored a hat trick.
Millikan (9-9, 2-1) got goals from Rory Kleven (2) and Max Miller, while goalkeeper Owen Fahringer finished with 12 saves.
Wilson will be at the NorCal Tournament next weekend.
