Wilson coach Erin Carey’s squad started the season ranked No. 13 in Division 3AA, with high hopes.
“I have big goals for my team this season and I think my girls are ready,” said Carey.
Unfortunately for the young, talented Bruins, they’ve been bit by the injury bug. Point guard Ashley Hawkins is out for the year with a knee injury, and star freshman Sydney Ross went down with an ankle injury in the Bruins’ second game of the year.
The Bruins have two legit bigs in junior Samiya Terry and sophomore Arielle Hines.
Terry is an athletic six-footer with a very bright future–as is the rest of the Wilson team, despite the 0-2 start.
“We’re really young, we only have one senior this year so the future is extremely bright at Wilson,” said Carey.
