High School Girls’ Soccer, 3 p.m.
The heavy rains are playing havoc with the Moore League soccer schedules this week, so it’s impossible to know what the rest of the season will look like. Today, league-leading Millikan is scheduled to visit Jordan while Cabrillo hosts Lakewood and Wilson travels to Compton.
High School Girls’ Water Polo, 3 p.m.
Defending Moore League champion Wilson is at the Belmont Outdoor Pool today to host Cabrillo. In other action, Poly hosts Jordan while Millikan visits Lakewood for another Battle Of The Blueprint rivalry game.
High School Wrestling, 5 p.m.
The Moore League regular season title will be decided tonight when defending champion Millikan visits Lakewood for the regular season finale. Elsewhere, Poly hosts Cabrillo while Wilson travels to Jordan.
Long Beach State Women’s Basketball vs. Cal Poly, 7 p.m.
A week after beating UC Riverside to start Big West Conference action, LBSU is returning to Walter Pyramid tonight to host Cal Poly. The Mustangs (4-9, 1-1) are led by senior forward Devin Stanback, who ranks third in the conference with a 50.78 shooting percentage. LBSU leads this all-time series 45-22, but Cal Poly has won the last three meetings.
FRIDAY
High School Girls’ & Boys’ Basketball, 5 & 6:30 p.m.
There are only five days of Moore League action left before the playoffs, and there are two key boys’ games as Jordan visits Millikan while Compton hosts Wilson. Also, Lakewood is hosting Cabrillo.
High School Boys’ Soccer, 3 p.m.
This entire day could be washed out by the week’s rain, but the schedule has Wilson visiting Jordan, Cabrillo hosting Compton and Lakewood traveling to Millikan.
Long Beach State Women’s Tennis, Beach Tennis Invitational
Weather permitting, the Beach will be hosting its annual three-day tournament at Rhodes Tennis Center this weekend.
SATURDAY
Long Beach State Men’s Volleyball at No. 2 UCLA, 7 p.m.
Two hundred and fifty nine days ago, LBSU came back to beat UCLA and win the National Championship at Pauley Pavilion. Tonight is the rematch. The No. 2 Bruins (4-1) were upset by Cal State Northridge last week. Senior Christian Hessenauer leads UCLA with 3.43 kills per set.
Long Beach State Men’s Basketball vs. Cal State Fullerton, 7 p.m.
After visiting UC Irvine on Wednesday, LBSU is back at Walter Pyramid to host rival Cal State Fullerton. The Titans (4-12, 0-2) beat the Beach in the conference tournament on their way to a Big West championship. CSUF is 0-8 on the road this year, but both Khalil Ahmad and Kyle Allman, Jr. are in the top four in scoring for the conference with an average of 35 combined points per game.
Long Beach State Women’s Basketball at UC Santa Barbara, 4 p.m.
The 49ers hit the road today for their second conference game in three days. UCSB (3-12, 0-2) is led by junior guard Coco Miller. She is fourth in the Big West with 14.5 points per game, and junior Natalia Bruening is fourth in the conference with a 50.5 shooting percentage. UCSB leads the all-time series 51-50 after winning the last two meetings.
