The Long Beach State Dirtbags mustered only four hits in their 4-1 loss to No. 23 TCU on Friday night on Bohl Diamond at Blair Field.
After falling behind 3-0, LBSU (1-11) got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning when Tanner Carlson scored on Santino Rivera groundout. Junior Calvin Estrada had a pair of singles.
No. 23 TCU (8-4) built its lead off starter Zak Baayoun, who gave up one run in the second and two in the fifth. He allowed five hits and three walks with a pair of strikeouts. Junior Tyler Gums struck out a career-high seven batters in four innings of work out of the bullpen. He gave up one run on three hits and a walk.
Adam Seminaris (0-2, 3.63 ERA) will get the start for the Dirtbags at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and TCU will go with Jake Eissler (2-0, 1.29 ERA).
