Wilson softball had its improbable playoff run come to an end with a 9-4 loss on Tuesday at West Ranch in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 semifinals. The Bruins (18-12) had a four-run come from behind win in the first round, a blow out win in the second round and a walk-off win in the quarterfinals at home last week.
Junior Sinclair Lawhorn led Wilson with three hits and an RBI. Sophomore Natalya Rodriguez, senior Michelle Dominguez and freshman Leah Pettway all had two hits in the game. Sophomore pitcher Hailey Houston stuck out eight in her fourth complete game effort of the postseason.
Wilson finished third in the Moore League this season, and hosted its first quarterfinals in 11 years.
