The Bruins had a strong performance in the Molten Tournament that shows they’re ready to challenge for a top spot in the Moore League. Wilson made it to the semifinals before an injury to top hitter Risa Sena hobbled them; the Bruins ended up falling to Cypress in the third-place match Saturday evening.
Sena led the team with 18 kills against La Canada, 17 against St. Anthony, and 14 against South Hills, all wins. Doris Chuang had 15 kills against La Canada and Katherine Mumm had 13 against St. Anthony and 10 against South Torrance.
The Bruins host Los Alamitos Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in their home opener.
