Last weekend’s season opener was smooth sailing for LBCC, which blew out Grossmont on the road in a game that saw them lead 48-10 early in the fourth quarter. This Saturday? Not so much. LBCC hosts Mt. SAC at 6 p.m. on Saturday in a meeting of traditional SoCal JuCo powers.
“They reflect us well,” Vikings coach Brett Peabody said. “Two physical teams that compete hard and represent their communities with pride.”
Previous meetings between the teams have typically been decided by one possession, often late in the game. Mt. SAC is 1-0 after a dominant win over Bakersfield last Saturday.
This is LBCC’s only home game of the month as they visit LA Valley and Riverside in the next two weeks before returning home to host Cerritos on October 5.
