The Eric Valenzuela era with the Long Beach State Dirtbags will begin with the difficult nonconference schedule left behind for him.
LBSU will host five different Pac-12 opponents next year after opening the season against Cal on Feb. 14 at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field. The Dirtbags season-opening 11-game home stand ends with Mississippi State (Feb.28-Mar. 1) and the Bulldogs are coming off a College World Series appearance.
The Dirtbags will also host non-conference series against Wake Forest (Feb. 21-23), Xavier (Mar. 6-8) and face USC in a split series that’s in Los Angeles on Apr. 9 and 11, and in Long Beach on Apr. 10 and Mar. 24.
Tuesday games against Arizona State, Cal Baptist, Fresno State, San Diego, San Diego State, UCLA, USC, and Washington State are also in Long Beach, and the Dirtbags have key Big West Conference series at home against UC Davis, CSU Fullerton, UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine.
