St. Anthony football opened its Del Rey League scheduled with a 36-22 win over visiting Harvard-Westlake on Friday night at Clark Field.
Sophomore running back Sone Aupiu scored three touchdowns on the night, and his 17-yard run in the first quarter gave St. Anthony an early lead.
St. Anthony quarterback Lucas Lehmar and Riley Jenkins hooked up for 39-yard score to make it 14-7 in the second quarter, and Aupiu put the Saints up 20-14 at halftime with this second score.
Aupiu punched in another touchdown late in the third quarter for a 26-14 lead. Saints defensive back Jason Porter’s interception returned 57 yards for a touchdown made it 33-14 Saints in the fourth quarter.
St. Anthony (3-4, 1-0) will take on La Salle for Homecoming next week at Clark Field.
