The Avalon 8-Man football team is riding a winning streak and can stay undefeated in the Express League with a win at St. Michael’s Prep today at 12 p.m. in Silverado.
Avalon (4-3, 3-0) has scored 145 points in its last two league wins at home, and is looking to roll that momentum into the game against St. Michael’s Prep (6-2, 2-2) and its formidable defense.
The St. Michael’s Prep Archangels are 4-1 at home this season and has only lost one game on the field last week to Sage Hill. The other loss came via forfeit, and SMP hasn’t allowed more than 28 points in a win.
Avalon receiver Adalberto Martinez could end up being the key to this game and the Lancers offensive output. The junior ranks second in the country with 1,400 yards receiving, according to Maxpreps.
A win for Avalon could set up an Express League championship game next week at Sage Hill in the regular season finale.
