The Millikan girls water polo team isn’t taking it lightly that they ranked No. 9 in the recent CIF Division 4 polls.
It’s a position that Rams coach Jose Guzman welcomes and his team made a clear statement on Wednesday at the Moore League Showcase defeating Jordan, 20-0.
“Today was all about catching our stride again and get our momentum back,” Guzman said. “We are getting ready for what’s coming up ahead and that’s Poly and Wilson. We want that league title and like I said before ‘We’re not here to take part, we’re here to take over’ and right now were still a little mopey in the beginning of the half, but after that we caught our stride and that’s what I like.”
Jennine Osorio was a force for the Rams scoring six goals as she scored every time she took a shot on goal.
“It felt really great to make an impact for the team,” Osorio said. “Our team was really pumped for the game and we needed to show what we can bring to the table.”
Along with Osorio, Bailey Peterson added four goals and eight others scored a goal.
“We want to play Millikan water polo and hopefully we’re starting to open some minds,” Guzman said.
