The No. 17 Long Beach State Dirtbags survived another strange game with Xavier on Saturday at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field. The Dirtbags (10-4) scored three runs on three hits and three errors while sophomore pitcher Alfredo Ruiz picked up his third win of the season. The lefty struck out seven in five innings.
This is the fourth consecutive weekend series win for LBSU and it will try to pick up its second consecutive sweep at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Freshman RHP Luis Ramirez (2-0, 3.44 ERA) gets the start for the Dirtbags against freshman Xander Rojahn (0-0, 7.20 ERA) for Xavier.
