Long Beach Unified School District superintendent-to-be Jill Baker (who officially starts on August 1) released a video outlining the district’s plan for the start of the 2020-21 school year, which will begin for students on September 1.

Baker said that in a few weeks, LBUSD families will be able to choose from a range of in-person and online options, which will be different for each grade level. Baker said that because of state and local health department guidelines, the district is currently planning on social distancing practices that will limit the size of each class to 14-17 students.
“At each level there will be an in-school option and at least one distance learning options,” Baker said.
