Former Long Beach State Dirtbags pitcher Adam Seminaris has been added to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 60-man player pool for the upcoming 2020 MLB season, he confirmed via his Twitter account Thursday. Seminaris was a fifth-round selection by the Angels in last month’s MLB Draft and will be eligible to make his Major League debut this season as a member of the team’s player pool.
Fittingly, Seminaris reported to his home ballpark, Bohl Diamond at Blair Field, where the Angles have begun their auxiliary summer camp for their travel roster. The team’s primary 40-man roster has been working out at Angel Stadium.

Seminaris was named a Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball following a stellar junior campaign in 2020. The southpaw posted a 1.23 ERA in his four appearances for the Dirtbags, striking out 36 batters in 22 innings. He was also tied for 7th in the nation with a 0.55 WHIP on the season.
Now that he’s on the Angels’ 60-man roster, Seminaris has reported to Bohl Diamond at Blair Field, where he will work out in the Jered Weaver Bullpen. In Seminaris’ final collegiate outing on March 6 against Xavier, he became the first Dirtbags pitcher since Weaver to strike out 14 batters in a single game. If Seminaris does get called up to the big club this season, he would be the first Long Beach State player to appear for the Angles since Weaver’s departure from the team in 2016.
