A big first half was enough to carry Long Beach State men’s basketball to an 82-80 win at Cal State Fullerton tonight. The Beach led for most of the game, and the victory snapped a six-game losing streak against the Titans.
LBSU (3-3, 2-1) shot over 50 percent from the floor on the night and was 8/13 from 3-point range in the first half. The Beach led Fullerton by 15 points at halftime. The Titans (1-3, 0-3) came back to make the game close thanks to 40 points in the paint and 22 forced turnovers.
Guard Isaiah Washington led four scorers in double-figure with 20 points. Forwards Trever Irish and Joe Hampton scored 16 points and Chance Hunter returned from injury to chip in 15 points and seven rebounds.
