Long Beach State softball was back on campus a year to the day after playing their last game at the LBSU Softball Complex, and the Beach made the most of it by sweeping San Diego in dramatic fashion.
In game one, transfer pitcher Shannon Haddad went the distance while scattering five hits in a 4-2 victory. She gave up two runs in the seventh inning, but stranded the trying run at second base with a pop out to end the game.
In game two, senior pitcher Kellie White tossed a complete game shutout and struck out 10 in a 2-0 win.
LBSU hosts Loyola Marymout on Sunday at 12 p.m. for a doubleheader.
