The Wilson Bruins bounced back from its mercy rule loss on Tuesday at Lakewood with a 7-4 win over Millikan on Thursday at Joe Rodgers.
Wilson (9-2, 1-1) scored all seven of its runs in the third inning while starter Hailey Houston pitched a complete game. She had five strikeouts and gave up five hits and five walks. Three of the runs were earned.
Sydney Freijanes and Juliana “JJ” Babore had the big RBI hits for the Bruins in the third inning. Leah Pettway added a pair of hits.
Millikan (5-6, 1-1) held a 2-0 lead in the third inning before Wilson took the lead. Emily Hanniff reached on a swinging bunt and scored in the first inning. She also drew a walk and came around to score in the fifth.
Wilson visits Compton on Tuesday while Millikan hosts Jordan.
