Long Beach Poly senior and Pepperdine signee Kelsey Adams helped lead the Jackrabbits to a Moore League co-championship with a win over Wilson last week. Adams had a pair of quality goals in Poly’s 3-1 win.

Poly junior David Huerta scored the Moore League championship goal for the Jackrabbits in a close win over Wilson last week, making Poly back-to-back league soccer champions.
Pat Johnson, Compton Basketball
Compton senior Pat Johnson helped lead his team to a pair of victories in the Moore League last week that catapulted them into first-place tie. Compton beat Poly behind 20 points from Johnson and then held off an upset-minded Lakewood team behind 27 points from Johnson.
Asjah Atkinson, St. Anthony Track & Field
St. Anthony senior Asjah Atkinson had a memorable day at the Arcadia Invitational on Saturday, effectively the best track meet that will happen in the state this year with the State meet canceled. Atkinson won the long jump (19-07.25) and the 100m hurdles (13.85) to claim two individual titles.
DJ Erkman, Wilson Baseball
Wilson senior DJ Erkman was a big part of Wilson’s critical win over Poly last week, which keeps the Bruins in the league title chase. Erkman went 3/3 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored, and drew a walk in the win.
Diego Gutierrez, Lakewood Baseball
Lakewood senior and CSUN signee Diego Gutierrez led the Lancers to an important win over the Rams last week. Gutierrez drove in the first run of the game in the fifth and then pitched three innings of scoreless relief in a 5-1 win.
Maddie Tadd, Wilson Tennis
Wilson senior Maddie Tadd won the Moore League singles championship last week defeating Millikan’s Kailee Mazzeo 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 in a thriller. Tadd was the league singles runner-up last year as a junior and came back on a mission to win it all this season.
Leo Pravednikov, Wilson Volleyball
Wilson junior Leo Pravednikov led the Bruins to a historic Moore League championship last week in a sweep over Poly, where he had 19 kills. The Bruins won an undefeated league championship and didn’t drop a single set all year.
