The Los Altos 12U All-Stars went to Hanford last week and came home Cal Ripken 12/60 All-Star champions after winning the regional tournament. The All-Stars are now trying to raise the money to travel to Florida for the Babe Ruth World Series Aug. 7-14.
“I’ve always thought we had a good team, I just wasn’t sure how we’d do once we got to the regional tournament,” manager Patrick Price said. “The boys found something within themselves to really compete the whole time and not give up.”
Pitchers Austin Brett, Logan Trafas and Griffin Robinson were fantastic in the tournament while Brant Brown, Marco Marchionni, Tano Mendiola and EJ Enriquez provided the big hits on offense.
Los Altos lost to Bullard in the championship round of the double elimination tournament, but it was only their first loss and they bounced back in the second game. It was tied 3-3 and the local boys scored four unanswered runs for the 7-3 victory.
