Jordan is also trying to revamp its program under former Lakewood coach Phil Geiger after the Panthers missed the spring season.
Geiger came to Jordan to operate the pool and get the water polo program on track to competing for playoff spots.
“I’ve got a good group of guys that may be a little light on leadership, but they’re heavy on enthusiasm so far,” Geiger said. “I really don’t know what to expect but we’re going to hang in there.”
Geiger is waiting to see his young players show improvement before he decides where and when he wants to play them, but he knows goalkeepers Ca’li Wormley and Brandon Taylor will be key to their success.
The Moore League Showcase will return to Cabrillo on Sept. 29 and that’s when Jordan plays the league favorite Wilson. Cabrillo will also take on Millikan and Poly will face off with Lakewood.
