It’s a blank slate.
After three non-league games, the Moore League season begins tonight at Wilson as the host Bruins (0-3) welcome the Tarbabes (1-2) from Compton. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Both teams are looking for good fortune after struggling in the last few weeks.
It was a great start to the year for Compton, which beat Compton Centennial, 60-0, to start the season but since then, Carl Bryant’s squad has been outscored, 96-0, including a 44-0 loss to Dominguez on Sept. 9.
The Bruins fell to St. Anthony, 23-13, and are still searching for their first win under Scott Meyer.
Senior quarterback Xander McLaurin left the game in the third quarter with a right leg injury and did not return.
Meyer said earlier this week that McLaurin was “day-to-day”. Sophomore quarterback Ian Bond developed chemistry late in the game with senior tight end Joshua Scott.
The duo had two long completions, including a 33-yard touchdown.
The Bruins have won every meeting since 2010 except in 2013 when Compton won via forfeit. Wilson won last year, 27-26.
