HIGH SCHOOL

Jason Parra, Millikan Cross Country

Millikan sophomore Jason Parra made history at last week’s Moore League cross country opener, as he won the boys’ varsity race at El Dorado. Parra’s time of 14:41 was a new league record for the three-mile El Dorado course.

Camille Lindsay, Long Beach Poly Cross Country

Long Beach Poly junior Camille Lindsay made history of her own last week at El Dorado. She won the girls’ varsity race by more than 90 seconds, and her time of 17:29 was a new league record at ElDo as well.

Shea Kuykendall, Long Beach Poly Football

Poly senior quarterback Shea Kuykendall had a strong game for the Jackrabbits in a lopsided win over Wilson last week. Kuykendall was 10/18 through the air for 213 yards and a pair of scores. He also had another two scores on the ground giving him 260 total yards and four touchdowns.

Myles Jackson, Millikan Football

Rams sophomore Myles Jackson had a big night in Millikan’s win over rival Lakewood. Jackson was 25/39 for 422 yards and five touchdowns, in one of the best games ever by a Millikan QB.

Adonia Faumuina, Long Beach Poly Volleyball

Jackrabbits senior Adonia Faumuina might be the top female athlete in the city this year, and playing at full strength last week against Millikan she showed why. The USC-committed senior had 10 kills and 15 assists in a sweep victory.

COLLEGE

Allie Scimia, Long Beach State Cross Country

In her third career race, Scimia entered the record books with the seventh fastest 5K time in program history at 17:28.9. Competing against some of the top programs in the country, the freshman finished 22nd overall out of over 300 competitors at the Chile Pepper Festival.
