A community funded nonprofit media outlet like The562.org can only exist because of subscribers, sponsors and donations from groups like the Sarah Childs Krueger Foundation Charity Fund.
Dedicated to the late Sarah Childs Krueger and built to benefit local schools and nonprofit organizations, The Krueger Foundation has donated $2,000 to The562.org over the last year. That level of support makes the foundation the newest member of The562 100.
Krueger passed away tragically in 2017 when she was hit by a car. Her husband, Larry, was convinced by Joe Jost owner Ken Buck to start a foundation in her memory. Larry used the assistance of the Seal Beach Lions Club and the Long Beach Community Foundation.
“The the love from family and friends was significant in that moment,” Larry said. “That love is why we have anything to give.”
Larry said the foundation has raised over $30,000 after fundraisers on Main St.

Larry and Sarah’s daughter, Camryn Krueger, was the goalkeeper for the Wilson girls’ water polo team when they won their first CIF championship in 2018.
