Lakewood boys’ water polo is another Moore League team that should be happy with the draw they got for the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs.
The Lancers (14-11) got into the postseason as an at-large and will travel to Tahquitz on Tuesday for the first round.
“This is a big opportunity for our program and my players can’t wait,” Lakewood coach Charles Wright said.
Tahquitz (8-13) finished second in the Mountain Pass League. Lakewood and Tahquitz both played Jurupa Valley this season. The Lancers beat them by a handful of goals, and Tahquitz lost to them by a handful of goals. Lakewood also played that game without top scorer Nathan Napohaku, who has scored over 60 goals this season.
Two wins will give Lakewood a chance to host a quarterfinal game.
