Atlanta Braves catcher and Lakewood High alum Travis d’Arnaud got to lift the World Series trophy tonight after his team beat the Houston Astros in the sixth game.
d’Arnaud has come a long way since injuries forced him out of the New York Mets organization a few years ago, and now he’s the first Lancer to win it all since Matt Duffy did it with the San Francisco Giants in 2014.
d’Arnaud delivered seven hits and two home runs in the World Series. His solo shot in the Game 3 win in Atlanta helped the Braves take a lead in the series that it wouldn’t lose.
