As the talent level continues to rise in the Millikan High football program, East Long Beach has become a popular destination for college recruiters. Over the past few weeks, marquee programs from across the country have pulled up on Palo Verde to take a closer look at Romeo Pellum’s squad.
At the top of the board is All-American wide receiver Ryan Pellum (left), who is sitting on more than three dozen offers from some of the top teams in the country. Last week he picked up offers from a couple more SEC powerhouses: Tennessee and defending national champions Georgia.
“I was really excited to get that offer,” said Ryan Pellum. “I love to see my boys get these offers as well, they’re definitely deserved. All of us will get the opportunity to play college football and further our education. The energy is always high over on Palo Verde and Spring, especially in the workouts. We’re always pushing each other in the weight room, it’s definitely a brotherhood.”
Speaking of the SEC, Millikan quarterback Myles Jackson pulled in a few offers of his own from the nation’s top college football conference. Both Auburn and Ole Miss extended offers to the soon-to-be junior, who is shaping up to be one of the most highly-coveted passers in the 2024 class. He’s also picked up offers from Oregon and UNLV in the past week.
“I’m excited for these opportunities,” Jackson said. “It’s everything we play for and I’m excited for the attention my school and my teammates are getting. We all work hard every day and this attention is great for all of us.”
The offer train doesn’t stop with Jackson and Pellum. Wide receiver Angelo Miranda is picking up more and more attention going into his senior year, and he recently picked up another Division I offer, this time from Nevada. The Wolf Pack also extended an offer to Class of 2024 defensive lineman Ethaniah Steffany, who also garnered scholarship offers from San Jose State and Colorado State last week.
The newest Millikan Ram, wide receiver Jordan Anderson, also added another nice offer to his growing list. The Cincinnati Bearcats extended offers to both Anderson and Pellum last week, who should be an exciting tandem the next two seasons for Millikan.
While most of the attention is on the loaded Class of 2024, graduating senior Damian Hernandez also picked up a scholarship offer last week when Black Hills State extended an offer to the big defensive tackle. Hernandez committed to BHSU on Monday.
