The Long Beach Poly girls’ basketball team is alone in first place after defeating Jordan in a meeting of the last two undefeated Moore League teams. The Panthers scored the first basket of the game but Poly scored the next 28 points en route to a 51-4 halftime lead and a 79-13 victory.
Poly was led by 17 points from Nala Williams, 11 points from Jaleina Taliauli, nine from Andrea Perkins, and eight apiece from Skylar Mills and Kristal Caldwell, who also had eight steals and four assists in a strong all-around game.
Aiyanna Smith led the Panthers with four points.
Poly improved to 13-4 and 5-0 in league while Jordan fell to 11-3 and 2-1.
