Wilson got a Moore League opening win on Friday behind five innings of no-hit pitching from Bruins starter Jack Eckenrode, who struck out six and didn’t walk any batters. Eckenrode pitched all five innings in a shortened 17-0 Wilson win.
The Bruins piled up 19 hits and saw big days from Ryan Burack (3-3, 2R, RBI), Nathan Gomez-Gardenswartz (2-3, 3 RBI, 2 R) and Zach Wakefield (2-2, R), in addition to Jake Fost who hit an RBI triple off the wall.
The Bruins (6-5, 1-0) will host Long Beach Poly in a Moore League game Wednesday while Jordan (3-6, 0-2) will host Compton Wednesday.
