The562.org is pleased to announce our latest sponsor. Marilyn Bohl has stepped up to sponsor The562’s Long Beach State coverage from now through the end of the 2022-23 school year.
Marilyn Bohl is a founding sponsor of the562.org, and this website would not exist without her support and encouragement. A member of the562’s Board of Directors, Bohl is also a well-known booster of youth sports and schools around the city. One of Long Beach’s most historic sports facilities bears her name, as she’s been the driving force behind many of the recent improvements at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field.
“The 562 does so much great work for the Long Beach community, and I’m proud to help them continue,” said Bohl.
Long Beach State is a mid-major on the rise, with national volleyball championships in 2018 and 2019 and high expectations for programs from the diamond to the hardcourt. We’ve been chronicling Beach sports in detail with more than 1,200 articles, videos, and photo galleries of Long Beach State teams over the last four years.
“Marilyn is so important to everything we do at the 562, and her continued support means the world to us,” said The562.org publisher Andy Kerr.
Marilyn Bohl is the latest sponsor to support The562’s award-winning local sports coverage. Previous sponsors include the Long Beach Century Club sponsoring Athletes of the Week, LBUSD Board of Education member Megan Kerr sponsoring baseball and softball coverage, Dan and Desiree Gooch sponsoring golf coverage, John Ross sponsoring Jordan coverage, the Cohn family sponsoring Cabrillo coverage, Joel Bitonio sponsoring Wilson coverage, Naples Car Wash sponsoring Long Beach State volleyball coverage, P2S, Inc sponsoring our Dirtbags coverage, Bryson Financial sponsoring this year’s cross country coverage and Aqualand sponsoring water polo.
