Entering the final week of the regular season, the Wilson Bruins have locked up the first girls’ lacrosse championship in Moore League history. The Bruins beat Lakewood prior to Spring Break to finish off an unbeaten league season and make history in one of the league’s youngest sports.
Wilson got its toughest tests from Millikan this season, but pulled out narrow wins in both meetings with the Rams. Those two programs participated in the first season of girls’ lacrosse in 2021, but there was no league champion crowned with not enough schools competing. In 2022, however, the Bruins left no doubt as to which team was the best in the city, clinching the unbeaten league season and Moore League title on Senior Night.
The Bruins will be the league’s top seed in the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs. Brackets for girls’ lacrosse will be released this Saturday at 11 a.m.
