The Long Beach State men’s volleyball team is the No. 1 seed for this week’s NCAA Tournament, taking place at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion. The Beach will play in the Final Four on Thursday at 5 p.m. against the winner of Tuesday’s match between UCLA and Pepperdine; Long Beach and UCLA split a pair of regular season matches this season.
If Long Beach State wins the match Thursday they’d play in the national championship match Saturday at 5 p.m. against the winner of Ball State and Hawaii.
Tickets for both matches are available through Long Beach State and can be purchased by clicking here.
It’s already been a successful week for the Beach, with five players named All-Americans by the AVCA; Alex Nikolov was named Newcomer of the Year and first team, joined by libero Mason Briggs on the first team. Clarke Godbold was named second-team All-American and setter Aidan Knipe was honorable mention alongside Spencer Olivier.
We’ll have coverage all week long with features on Briggs and Nikolov and previews of each match.
