The Moore League boys’ and girls’ swimming finals in April at Cabrillo quickly turned into a party for the Wilson aquatics program. On the girls side, strong relay performances helped the Bruins roll to their first league title since 2015.
“We have worked so endlessly hard this entire year and the last few years to try and get this back,” Wilson sophomore Sammie Hamilton said. “I think this is where it belongs and it will be here for a while.”
On the boys side, the Bruins dominated the meet on their way to a California record 49th consecutive league title.
“It’s just tradition,” Wilson senior Gray Carson said. “In the past couple days, we’ve gotten texts from alumni… You see how important the tradition is and it really makes you want to keep it alive. It’s 49 now, and you don’t know how long it could go, but it’s important to keep it going.”
