Legendary Wilson and Long Beach State volleyball alum Dustin Watten held a free camp for Moore League volleyball players recently at his Bruin alma mater. Watten, 35, was an All-American libero at Long Beach State, where he rewrote the record books, and has gone on to become a national team stalwart who’s had a very successful decade-plus pro career overseas as well.
Watten hosted the free two-hour clinic on advanced digging and passing skills, and opened it up to all the Moore League players.
“It was great to see rivals encourage, cheer each other on, and work together,” said Jeff Watten, Dustin’s father.
Watten, who has settled back in his hometown during the offseasons, headed back to Poland for his next pro season shortly after the end of the camp.
