A disappointing 2021 season has Wilson football chomping at the bit to get back on the field and open the 2022 season on a high note. The Bruins will do that tonight at home against Redondo Union. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Redondo Union is also playing its season opener after only winning two games last season. The Sea Hawks haven’t won a playoff game since 2017.
Wilson coach Scott Meyer and his staff got a chance to see Redondo Union in their scrimmage, and he said they’re a solid team with a strong passing attack and physical defense.
The Bruins haven’t won a season opener since 2019 when they last reached the playoffs.
