The562’s coverage of Jordan Athletics is sponsored by John Ross, Class of 2013.
The Jordan Panthers will put their unbeaten record on the line tonight as they host Fairfax at 7 p.m. Both teams enter this contest at 2-0, but they’ve arrived there in very different ways.
Jordan has had to come from behind late in both of its victories–30-21 at Kennedy and 41-35 last Friday vs. Peninsula. Meanwhile, the Lions have had a smoother road these past two weeks, earning a 42-0 win at Reseda before beating Sylmar, 25-6, last week.
When these teams played last season, Jordan earned a 36-20 victory at Fairfax, so the Lions will be looking for revenge on Thursday night.
Jordan’s running game was a big part of its success last week as Jordan Washington and Khaali Hicks each had 100-yard games with a 50+ yard TD apiece. J-Town will certainly be looking for more big plays from those playmakers, plus sophomore QB JJ Nielsen, who made plays with his arm and his legs against the Panthers.
Come back to The562 tonight for full coverage from J-Town!
