HIGH SCHOOL

Dom Lolesio, Long Beach Poly Football

Long Beach Poly senior Arizona commit Dom Lolesio was dominant once again at the defensive end position. Lolesio had three sacks and three pass breakups to help lead the Jackrabbits to a win over Leuzinger and a 4-0 start to the season.

Nygel Osborne, Millikan Football

On the road in Arizona, Nygel Osborne helped lead Millikan to a victory. The stud running back had 13 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns in the game, including the game-winner in overtime.

JJ Nielsen, Jordan Football

Jordan sophomore quarterback JJ Nielsen hit his stride last week in helping to lead the Panthers to a 4-0 start, the best in school history. Nielsen was 14/23 for 260 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.

D’Jon Pittman, Cabrillo Football

D’Jon Pittman is having a breakout freshman year for the Jaguars, and he had a huge game to help lead the Jaguars to 4-0 for the first time in program history. Pittman had six catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns including a long score for the game-winner with 11 seconds left.

Elijah Lolesio-Pua, St. Anthony Football

St. Anthony senior Elijah Lolesio-Pua helped the Saints to their first win of the season this week, as they brought home a victory against Wilson. Lolesio-Pua had an offensive and defensive touchdown in the win.

Aaliyah Fasavalu, Millikan Volleyball

Millikan senior Aaliyah Fasavalu proved why she’s one of the best players in the city last week as she led the Rams to a victory over Long Beach Poly. Fasavalu was a star in the middle as she had 12 kills and four blocks in the victory.

COLLEGE

Dylan Dela Cruz, Long Beach State Volleyball

The Long Beach State women’s volleyball team were swept by No. 2 Nebraska last week, but libero Dylan Dela Cruz had a good performance in the straight set defeat; Dela Cruz had a team-high 11 digs in the loss.
