The Cabrillo badminton team won the Moore League regular season title as they concluded the season with a 19-2 victory against Millikan last week.
The Jaguars secured their third title and first since back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019.
“The team conditioned hard during the summer and offseason,” Cabrillo coach Russian Galima said. “They trained tirelessly during the season. We had one goal in mind, which was to reclaim the Moore League title.”
After some low participation the last few years, Cabrillo was led by senior captain Jedrek De Guzman and Mhargoux Ponce who provided a battle-tested mentality for the Jaguars.
Along with their senior duo, first-year varsity player, Brain Habacon finished fourth in league.
On the girls side, Cabrillo’s Jasmin Ramos won her match and finished league play undefeated.
Cabrillo will now turn their attention to the Moore League finals this week after finishing the league season 9-1. Individual finals are Monday, doubles finals are Tuesday, and mixed doubles will be Wednesday with all winners presented their awards.
