A pair of freshmen led Wilson softball to a shutout victory in the first shortened Moore League game of the season. Wilson pitcher Hailey Houston struck out 10 batters in four innings, while Sydney Freijanes went 4-for-4 with a double and a walk.
“We’ve got a lot of good seniors and freshman who can play,” Wilson first-year coach George Molina said. “We’re a very deep team, and all of the starters have earned their spots.”
The Bruins (4-2, 1-0) are playing in the Savanna Showcase next weekend, and take on Long Beach Poly on March, 27.
