Season Preview: Millikan Boys’ Water Polo

The Rams finished second in league again last year, and they’re the only program other than Wilson to win a league title since 2007. Coach Danely Smith said he has a good group of players coming back this year who have worked hard to improve all summer.

Seniors Alex Carrol, Daniel Chenier, Matthew Brown and Connor Stine are the team leaders with the most experience, but standout sophomore Max Miller will play a huge role in Millikan’s success. Smith is also very excited about the growth of his junior class led by Matthew Hernandez, Zack Jamali, Cole Parkins, Maceo Glenn and Brody Brownly.

The Rams are in Division 4 this season after losing to Rancho Cucamonga 12-11 in the first round last year. Millikan hasn’t won a playoff game since the CIF-SS playoff equity was introduced.

“As far as league is concerned, we looked forward to a competitive game with Poly, and hope to do the same with Wilson,” Smith said.
