The Long Beach Junior Crew duo of Isabela Camerino and Jasmine Macklin won a national title last weekend in the women’s lightweight category of the US Rowing Virtual National Championships. Camerino is a senior-to-be at Long Beach Poly, and the duo were part of a 15-athlete LBJC contingent competing in the first-ever virtual national title event for US Rowing.
Normally an in-person event, COVID-19 related restrictions around travel and competition moved this year’s event online, where athletes around the country competed with each other for best times and performances.
The women’s quad of Allegra Steege, Taylor Donato, Hayley Bergstrom, and Lilyanne Morse also earned a silver medal for LBJC.
