Cielo Meza Tosses No-Hitter For Long Beach State Softball

Cielo Meza pitched the 27th no-hitter in Long Beach State softball history on Saturday to help the No. 22 49ers beat No. 21 Minnesota 1-0 at the San Diego Classic. It is the third win over a ranked opponent for LBSU. The Beach (15-4) beat Oregon State later in the day to finish the tournament 4-1.

Meza (9-0) struck out 11 and issued one walk while only four batters hit the ball out of the infield.
LBSU senior LT Torres had a double, a single, and a hit-by-pitch. She scored the go-ahead run in the fifth inning on Nichole Fry’s second triple of the season.

This is the best start in school history, and the team celebrated as such…
