The rescheduled 2021 Acura Grand Prix Of Long Beach is successfully back on the downtown street course and it will be the site of the NTT IndyCar Series championship today.
A dramatic qualifying round on Saturday ended with two-time NTT IndyCar champion Josef Newgarden of Team Penske sitting on the pole. He led the Firestone Fast Six with a top lap of 1:8.2241.
Newgarden and young challenger Pato O’Ward are still in the running for the championship but points leader Alex Palou can win the season championship by finishing 12th or better. He will start 10th after a yellow flag incident forced him to slow down on fast final laps. O’Ward will start fifth.
The race on Shoreline Dr. is scheduled to start at 12:45 p.m. and you can follow our LIVE coverage via Twitter while watching the 85-lap race starts on NBCSN.
