HIGH SCHOOL

Camille Lindsay, Long Beach Poly Cross Country

Long Beach Poly junior Camille Lindsay wasn’t 100% at last week’s Moore League cross country finals, but her finish was 100% gold. Lindsay finished first in 18:02 to win the race by 36 seconds.

Jason Parra, Millikan Cross Country

Millikan sophomore Jason Parra continues to have the Moore League on lock. He swept the regular season league races and ran a 14:53 three-mile time to claim the boys’ individual championship.

Jordan Washington, Jordan Football

Jordan sophomore running back Jordan Washington had touchdown runs of 60, 32 and 80 yards in the Panthers’ playoff win over Rim of the World. It was Jordan’s first playoff win since 1994.

Jason Robinson, Jr., Long Beach Poly Football

Poly sophomore Jason Robinson, Jr. had a special night. After dreaming of playing for Poly since he was four years old, Robinson Jr. was in his first playoff action for the Jackrabbits last Friday. His six catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns propelled Poly to a dominant win.

Hank Rivers, Wilson Water Polo

Wilson senior Hank Rivers was the most impactful player in the pool during the Bruins’ quarterfinal win over PV last week. Rivers had four assists, two goals, two steals and a field block in the win.

Chaz Pruett, Long Beach Poly Water Polo

Long Beach Poly’s Chaz Pruett was a standout for the Jackrabbits in three playoff wins last week. Pruett was the team’s leading goal scorer in the second round with six goals, and again in the quarterfinals with five goals.

COLLEGE

Tia Chavira, Long Beach State Volleyball

Long Beach State swept Cal State Fullerton last week before losing to Hawaii in four sets. The Beach was led by setter Tia Chavira, who averaged 9.57 assists per set over the week.
