As the high school football regular season winds down each game proves to be more important as the Moore League playoff races heats up. Friday night will be no different as Jordan hosts Wilson. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

After picking up a huge victory against Compton last week, the Panthers (5-2, 1-2) once again find themselves in a must-win situation as they look to keep themselves in the hunt for a top-three finish in the Moore League race.

The Panthers went to Jordan Washington often last week and he delivered rushing for over 272 yards on 19 carries. Jordan will look to continue their home cooking as they are unbeaten at home this season.

Wilson is looking to shake off a 70-0 loss to Poly last week and that will start with running back Christian Chapman. He faced a tough Jackrabbits defense last week but continues to impress as the season progresses.

Friday night could come down to which running back has more production as both have become a vital component of each team’s success.

Last year, huge defensive stops in the clutch moments helped Jordan pick up a historic 21-20 win at Wilson after a possible game-winning field goal went wide for the Bruins in the final minute. It was the first time the Panthers had beaten Wilson since 2012. Jordan went on to make its first postseason appearance since 2015, and its first CIF championship game appearance in school history.
